It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend, musical partner, and brother, Robert Greenidge.

For those who knew Robert through his music, he was a world-renowned steelpan virtuoso whose sound carried the spirit of Trinidad and Tobago to audiences around the globe. For those blessed to know him personally, he was so much more: a loyal friend, a gifted storyteller, a generous mentor, and a man whose smile and warmth could brighten any room.

The story of Club Trini cannot be told without Robert Greenidge. Together, Robert and Michael Utley built a musical partnership rooted in friendship, respect, laughter, and a shared love of Caribbean music. Their performances were more than concerts. They were celebrations of life, culture, and joy.

"Thank you, Robert, for the music, the friendship, the laughter, and the memories. You were the most musical player I ever worked with and I learned so much from you. Your music will forever remain in our hearts."

Robert's artistry helped elevate the steelpan and inspired countless musicians and fans. Whether performing on a grand stage, in a recording studio, or among friends, he brought a rare joy to every note he played.

Today, we mourn the loss of a treasured member of our family. At the same time, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, passion, and extraordinary talent. Though the stage may feel quieter, Robert's music will continue to play wherever friends gather, wherever Caribbean music is celebrated, and wherever his memory is cherished.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Robert's family, friends, fellow musicians, and fans during this difficult time.

With love and gratitude,
Michael Utley & the Club Trini Family
